What Is Facial Trauma Care?

Treating Injuries to the Face & Jaw

Facial trauma covers injuries to the jaw, teeth, and surrounding facial structures — often from falls, sports, or accidents. Both Dr. Brunetti and Dr. Elmowitz hold active hospital privileges and take hospital call for exactly these situations, treating severe injuries alongside routine office care.

Types of Injuries

What We Treat

Jaw Fractures

Breaks in the upper or lower jaw, often requiring stabilization with small plates and screws to heal properly.

Facial Fractures

Breaks to bones of the face, most often the zygoma (cheekbone), nasal bones (bones of the nose), or orbit (the bones around the eye).

Facial Lacerations

Cuts and wounds to the face and mouth that need careful repair to heal well and minimize scarring.

Treatment & Repair

More serious injuries are typically treated in a hospital operating room setting under general anesthesia, stabilizing fractures and repairing soft tissue.

Recovery & Follow-Up

We follow up closely as you heal, monitoring for proper bone and tissue recovery over the following weeks.
